Ever had those days?

It can be quite taxing being momma and wife, cleaning and cooking from scratch, homeschooling the kiddos and being the manufacturer and admin of a home based product business.  Some days I’m so confused about what comes first, that I don’t know where to begin! Luckily the kids keep me grounded & remembering my sole purpose as the days goes along. Other times, I’m blessed my my dear sweet hubby, who reminds me that the world will not end if “it” isn’t perfect.  But there are still those days, when every chip seems to fall a once ~ seems to be too much for one person to handle.  Ever had those days?

How do YOU deal with enormous muti-tasking ?  Do you have a system in place that works wonders for your heavy schedule of responsibilities?

I have a main notebook, and my planner on my desk. The notebook is for my ongoing list of things to get done re: work stuff. I go over it every day and see what needs to be done first, because in my life, prioritizing changes daily, sometimes more. The calendar is for appointments. And, even after all that, sometimes you just can’t look at the whole picture – you just do what’s in front of your face, get it done, take another step, do that thing, etc.

Thank you so much Dana! Excellent! I probably need to make my desk “mine” again! :) Then I’ll have my own work space where I can feel like I have it all together.. It’s the one step at a time i am NOT that great at! :)

My desk is the collection pile, and when it gets to the point that I can’t see my calendar, or my notebook, I declutter it. There is always going to be something to do, or something that stands in our way. Like laundry. I swear, when I win the lottery, I’m hiring someone just for my laundry, LOL!

Yes, my desk becomes the “leave it there” pile.. lol I really need one of those HUGE desk calenders.. that would help a LOT! But, you’re right, being at home yields all manner of “distraction,” or maybe the work IS the distraction! lol Either way, SERIOUS organization is needed! :)

I can sooo relate to the above statement. That’s me to a tee. LOL

I don’t even have my own work space and with one 4 y/o child I can’t hide myself away in an office.

Lately, I have been doing computer work, then a task around the house, then computer again and so on. Lists : wow am I resistant to those, yet EVERYONE I read from that’s running a biz says a ‘To Do’ list is a must. I do one here and there and it really is satisfying to tick things off.

Unfortunately, I don’t have advice, but just wanted to say that I relate to your post :-)

Yes, I do interact with my daughter in between computer, tasks etc. She sometimes/often won’t let me be and is my biggest distraction. LOL

haha! I can relate Christine! I have tried so many list/not-a-list type programs and techniques, and I’m STILL trying to find the right thing for me! lol I KNOW I’ll find it one day! :)

  8. I think we can all relate to having one of “those days”. I like to set monthly, weekly and daily goals that I know are achievable. I go over them everyday to keep myself on track.

Thanks So much, Ann-Marie! Goals will have to be my route as I near the final stretch of this pregnancy!
